NICHOLS, Fred - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Fred Nichols of RR 1, Kingman, age 68, died Wednesday morning, March 11, at his home. He was born in Jasper County, Illinois, February 27, 1913, the son of Les and Nora Cunefare Nichols. In July of 1937, he married Jean Walters, who survives. He was a retired farmer and school bus driver.

  Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Joyce Lawson of Kingman; four sons, Earl of Bloomington, Leslie of Uncasville, Connecticut, Bennie of Indianola, Illinois, and Murray of Covington; four sisters, Mrs. Doris Beckwith of Huntington Beach, California, Mrs. Ellen Webb of Livermore, California, Mrs. Vere Thayer of Mattoon, Illinois, and Mrs. Beulah Strole of Fairfield, Illinois; three brothers, Bernard of Montrose, Illinois, Merle of Greenup, Illinois, and Charles of Mattoon; and nine grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at Woodrow Funeral Home in Kingman with Rev. John Lamb officiating. Burial was in Centennial Cemetery east of Lodi. – thanks to S
